About the Event
We are very happy to announce our upcoming self-tying series to be taught by Miss Acacia and Serafina this fall. The series will consist of two parts: self-tying classes followed by two intro to self suspension workshops. This event is a free information session for those interested in this series where you get to meet our presenters and ask any questions you might have about how the series will be structured, what you might need to complete it, etc.
Series Structure
The self-tying series will be offered as classes covering five basic topics, ranging from knots and frictions to suspendable harnesses. Each class will be offered multiple times and the number of classes will depend on the pace at which topics are covered. The series may consist of as few as 5 classes with 5 makeup class opportunities for a total of 10, but additional classes may be added as needed. After the self-tying series concludes students will have the opportunity to sign up for the pair of self-suspension workshops: two day-long intensives that take you from the ground and into the air.
Pricing and Financial Assistance
Tickets to self-tying and self-suspension will be offered separately. Instead of our usual a la carte ticket sales per individual class, these tickets will be for the whole series. The price for the entire self-tying series will be $250. The price for the self-suspension workshops will also be $250. The self-tying series will be payable in $125 up-front deposit and the other $125 after the first four classes conclude. The series is limited to 10 participants to ensure the highest quality of education.
At Upline we understand that rope education can be prohibitively expensive. While our priority is on hiring high quality educators and compensating them fairly for their time, knowledge, experience, and energy, we also try to make classes as affordable as we possibly can. Even so, not everyone will be able to afford a series like this one. As a result we are offering two distinct scholarships for this series that will bring down he price of the tickets to $125 for the self-tying series and $125 for the self-suspension workshops.
The Need Based scholarship is available to everyone. There will be one spot available for this scholarship. To apply for this scholarship, simply email info@uplinestudio.com by September 30, 2021 saying that you'd like to apply for the Need Based scholarship for the Fall 2021 self-tying/self-suspension series. On October 1 we will randomly pick one person of all those who applied to receive the half off scholarship.
The People of Color and Indigenous People scholarship is available, as you may have guessed, to people of color and indigenous people, regardless of financial need. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote diversity in our rope community and to counteract systematic discrimination in our society in general that might prevent a person of color/indigenous person from taking part in rope education. The procedure for applying to this scholarship is the same as above: email info@uplinestudio.com by September 30, 2021 saying that you'd like to apply for the People of Color and Indigenous People scholarship for the Fall 2021 self-tying/self-suspension series
If you happen to qualify for both scholarships you may apply for both, doubling your chances of getting it. To do so please, send two separate emails per procedure outlined above.
