COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

The following precautions will be in place for this event:

• For this event, masks will be mandatory inside the building at all times except when eating or drinking.
• Our capacity (guests, staff, and presenters included) will be capped at 24 people.
• Upon entry you must present your CDC vaccination card, electronic vaccine passport, or state issued vaccination certificate that shows that you have received your original COVID-19 vaccinations as well as a booster along with your government issued ID to check for a name match on the card/certificate/passport. You will not be admitted into the event if you do not present these documents. If your medical professional has advised you that you cannot get a booster at this time or you are ineligible for one because it has been less than 5 months since your last vaccination dose an exception will be granted.

About the Series

We are very happy to announce our upcoming Rope Essentials series to be taught by Miss Acacia, Serafina, Corwin, and others from the Upline team. The series will consist of a number of bi-weekly classes and will prepare the students interested in suspension to take an introductory suspension workship. This event is a free information session for those interested in this series where you get to meet our presenters and ask any questions you might have about how the series will be structured, what you might need to complete it, etc.

Series Structure

The Rope Essentials series will be offered as classes covering five basic topics, ranging from knots and frictions to suspendable harnesses. Each class will be offered multiple times and the number of classes will depend on the pace at which topics are covered. The series may consist of as few as 5 classes with 5 makeup class opportunities for a total of 10, but additional classes may be added as needed. After the series concludes students will have the opportunity to sign up for an introductory suspension weekend workshop.

Pricing and Financial Assistance

Instead of our usual a la carte ticket sales per individual class, these tickets will be for the whole series. The price for the entire Rope Essentials series will be $250 for each tying pair (2 people). The series will be payable in $125 up-front deposit and the other $125 after the first four classes conclude. The series is limited to 8 tying pairs to ensure the highest quality of education. Please note that the intro to suspension workshop is a separate fee.

At Upline we understand that rope education can be prohibitively expensive. While our priority is on hiring high quality educators and compensating them fairly for their time, knowledge, experience, and energy, we also try to make classes as affordable as we possibly can. Even so, not everyone will be able to afford a series like this one. As a result we are offering two distinct scholarships for this series that will bring down he price of the tickets to $125.

The Need Based scholarship is available to everyone. There will be one spot available for this scholarship. To apply for this scholarship, simply email info@uplinestudio.com by April 10th, 2022 saying that you'd like to apply for the Need Based scholarship for the Spring 2022 Rope Essentials series. On April 12th we will randomly pick one person of all those who applied to receive the half off scholarship.

The People of Color and Indigenous People scholarship is available, as you may have guessed, to people of color and indigenous people, regardless of financial need. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote diversity in our rope community and to counteract systematic discrimination in our society in general that might prevent a person of color/indigenous person from taking part in rope education. If you happen to qualify for both scholarships you may apply for both, doubling your chances of getting it. To do so please, send two separate emails per procedure outlined above.
