About the Event
This day-long workshop is geared towards those who are new to rope or coming back to it after some time away and want to get back to it. The goal is to help you get started or re-started on your rope journey, help you get started with tying, and set you up for future more advanced classes. We will cover the following topics:
Basic rope safety and precautions
Consent model for rope play
Types of rope and their uses
Basic knots and frictions
The concepts of tension and placement of the rope
A basic chest harness
A folded leg tie (aka futomomo aka futo)
Basics of a hogtie
The workshop will include coffee and donuts in the morning as well as pizza and salad lunch.
Requirements You will need 2-3 hanks of 6mm or 1/4 inch rope that are 7 to 8 meters or 22 to 30 feet long. We highly recommend you also have some shorter pieces such as halves, thirds or quarters of these full hank sizes. For materials you may choose to use synthetic rope such as MFP (Agreeable Agony has these) or jute or hemp natural fiber rope (look up Damn Good Rope Company). If you do not have your own rope and do not want to purchase any yet, loaner rope will be available for the duration of the class. Additionally, safety shears are highly recommended for this class although loaners are available at the studio.
You do not need to have any experience for this introductory class. Some of the ties can be practiced on yourself, but generally the class is taught as a partner activity so a partner is recommended.
It is recommended that you bring a blanket or other comfort items since we will be sitting on the floor mats and tying while sitting down. You should also bring a reusable water bottle to keep hydrated.
Pricing
The price for the class is $120/person. If you would like to attend but are unable to due to financial reasons, please email Corwin at corwin@uplinestudio.com and we will work out a way to include you. Note that there are NO TIKCET SALES at the door. You must purchase your ticket in advance.

About Corwin
Corwin is a rope top with a particular interest in dynamic suspension. He spent over half a decade refining his particular style of topping with rope which includes lots of transitions, unusual shapes, and a healthy dose of visual and sensory elements. His focus when tying is first and foremost on creating an experience for both the rigger and the person being tied, while always focusing on tying with a smoothness and efficiency that helps enhance the experience.
About SublteRebellion aka Nikki
Nikki (She/her) is an all around Switch, Rope enthusiast, and NEMA mentor. Nikki has explored and discovered much about her kink, queer, and polyamorous self; and as a switch, she has had the pleasure of learning from both sides of the slash. Her first dive into getting involved in communities started early in her exploration in 2018 and rope was her initial draw to the lifestyle. Nikki wants to share her passion for rope with others with education focused on the fundamentals and safety. She is drawn to rope due to the extensive variety of experiences it can provide. Both as a top and bottom she enjoys the creative shapes, challenges, and connections it brings, and wants to educate and encourage others to find what they love about it as well.
