About the Presenters
Lubegirl (she/her) is a Rope Switch out of the NYC area. Bubbly, personable, and passionate about kink education on both sides of the slash, her goal is to break the stereotypes and myths of Rope (particularly synthetic), one class at a time.
Playing on both sides of the rope since Summer 2015, Lubegirl is currently the leader of the NYC chapter of Hitchin’ Bitches and a facilitator of the NY Rope Collective. She uses her platform to encourage other female identifying kinksters to learn the basics of rope while facilitating a safe space for bottoms of all orientations, sizes, and identity.

Class Information:
The workshop will consist of four distinct classes, as follows:
Class 1: Beating Suspension Stereotypes: Suspension for Larger Individuals (10am)
Do you constantly find yourself tying folks taller than you? Is gravity getting you down when you're trying to lift someone into the air? Are you a bottom who's been told that because you're (insert excuse here) you can't be suspended? Come learn some ways to adapt your suspension that makes it easier on you and your bottom while perpetuating the idea that suspension can be for everyone.
Riggers should know both a suspension worthy chest (box tie/hands free) and lower body (waist/hip) harness, Bottoms should have an understanding of good vs bad pain. Natural and Synthetic ropes are welcome in this class.
Level: beginner to intermediate suspension
Students Requirements: full suspension kit (8-15 ropes, carabiners, straps, ring, etc), Cutting Tool
Class 2: Body Manipulation for Tiny Riggers (12pm)
Are you short in stature or used to tying individuals larger than yourself? Do you struggle with maintaining connection or manipulating their body that leaves you in control of the scene? Come learn some tricks and techniques for the ground that will make your scenes be a little less awkward and a little more natural. Natural and Synthetic ropes are welcome in this class, though most of the focus will be on body movement. Riggers should be comfortable tying a single column a basic harness structure and bottoms should have a basic understanding of body awareness and know the difference between good pain and bad pain.
Level: All Levels
Student Requirements: 3+ Hanks of Rope, Cutting Tool
Joining The Raptor Army: Building Tengu Variations (3pm)
Looking for a way to restrict your bottom while avoiding the sensitive nerves in their arms? The Tengu is a great structured harness suitable for all body types and adds a unique shape to your ties in the ground and the air. Come learn how to build your bottom into a raptor and walk away with some techniques to build your own raptor shapes! Both natural fiber and synthetics are welcome in this class.
Tops should have a basic knowledge of single columns, friction/tension and a hands free harness with a solid stem (such as the Shibari Study™ Butterfly Harness). Bottoms should have a basic understanding of body awareness and know the difference between good pain and bad pain.
Requirements: Intermediate to advanced
Student Requirements (Ground): 5-7+ Hanks of Rope, Cutting Tool
Student Requirements (Air): full suspension kit (8-15 ropes, carabiners, straps, ring, etc), Cutting Tool
Class 4: Masterclass (4:30pm)
Struggling with something you've been tying on your bottom? Do you need assistance figuring out what works for your bodies in a tie and advocating for yourself? Join Roux (They/them) and Lubegirl (she/her) in this masterclass environment where the topics covered are decided by you, the attendees! Based on the topics covered, your presenters will work within their combined knowledge set to provide valuable advice and guidance to help you on your rope journey.
Roux and Lubegirl will not be teaching specific harnesses or skills (such as suspension) in the Master Class environment; the success of this class is dependent on the topics provided, so both tops and bottoms should come prepared with problems and topics they'd like to discuss. Both synthetics and natural fibers are welcome in this class.
Requirements:
Tops should be able to tie and safely suspend their bottoms. They should also bring their full rope kit (8-12 hanks of rope, suspension gear), and materials to take notes
Bottoms should understand some body awareness (Good vs Bad Pain) and materials to take notes
