Class: Sadistic Rope

So you like rope, and you’re a bit sadistic, how can we put that together? In this class we will be discussing how to play with rope with a focus on suffering, we will cover negotiation and safety specifically when it comes to using rope in this fashion. We will be distinguishing between fast and slow burn pain as well as suffering from the rope itself or the position it holds a person in. This class will be lecture based with student participation, followed by demos and a practice portion where the students can play with some of these concepts for themselves. This class can be audited, if you do not have a partner, and some of the demos may be self tied as well.

Prerequisites: The rigger should know how to tie a non collapsing single column, as well as an understanding of basic frictions, hitches, and rope handling skills.

Nikki (She/her) is an all around Switch, Rope enthusiast, and NEMA mentor and coordinator. Nikki has explored and discovered much about her kink, queer, and polyamorous self; and as a switch, she has had the pleasure of learning from both sides of the slash. Her first dive into getting involved in communities started early in her exploration in 2018 and rope was her initial draw to the lifestyle.
